Al Benzoni, Vice President of Engineering

Al Benzoni joined Xponent in October 2001 as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Xponent, Al served as Senior Technical Manager for OE Module Engineering at Agere System's Optical Access Division (formerly Ortel). He began his career as an MTS OE packaging engineer at AT&T Bell Labs/Lucent. He joined Ortel in 1996 and was Director of OE Module Engineering when Ortel was acquired by Lucent in 2000.

Al's work experience includes packaging and product development for DC/CW to high speed OE modules ranging from 980 nm to 160x nm wavelength. He has developed OC-192 receivers and sources, high optical power 1550 nm, 14xx, and 1310 source lasers. Al has co-authored seven patents related to OE packaging

He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo.
