Pete Sercel, Ph.D.
Pete Sercel, Ph.D., is a co-founder
of Xponent and was the company's President until
October, 2001. He is presently Senior Technical
Manager responsible for PLC development at the
Company. Prior to founding Xponent, Sercel was
Associate Professor of Physics with tenure at
the University of Oregon, whose faculty he joined
in 1992. He was the recipient of the Presidential
Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers
in 1996, the inaugural year of that award, presented
for outstanding research innovation. Sercel has
also received the U.S. Army Research Office Young
Investigator Award. Sercel holds a Ph.D. in Applied
Physics from Caltech, earned in 1992, and a B.S.
degree in Engineering Physics from University
of Arizona.
